Lake Vermilion is located in Northeastern Minnesota. The lake is over 37 miles long, has 365 islands and over 40,000 acres of surface water--leaving it one of the most scenic lakes in Minnesota. Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Enter the BWCA from Lake Vermilion or Ely, about 25 minutes from the east side of the lake.

Boating
Boating on Lake Vermilion is a great way to spend your vacation. There are numerous places to rent boats from, ranging from small fishing boats to ski boats to pontoons. The lake is marked with navigation buoys making boating on the Lake safe. While boating, you can enjoy the scenery, journey to a restaurant and have dinner next to the lake or take a nightly cruise while watching the sunset.
